Is playing my local files on Android just out of the question? But I CANNOT get my local music files to stream on my Android app. Have turned all firewalls off, logged out/in, made all playlists available offline (even though I shouldn't have to do this) - only the Spotify songs get synced to my phone. At the moment the Spotify app on Xbox One only supports streaming from their catalogue, not local files. If you have local files on a hard drive connected to your console you could use the media player app to play them, but local files from another device won't play (at present). It could be worth making this suggestion on Spotify's own feedback/Ideas page, or support it if it already exists there. Unlink option to avoid Spotify erroneously matching/replacing your Local Files with online entries! (Not sure how this affects Local Files synchronized to the Mobile app, those might still be auto-linked.) Desktop shows Device Sync more clearly. Local Files List/Playlists can be Filtered and Searched. Date 'Added' sorting option.
Use the app to play music files stored on your device, which we call local files.
Note: Files or downloads from illegal sources are not permitted.

Note: Some of your files may be protected in restricted formats. Install QuickTime on your computer to allow most of these tracks to be played on Spotify.
The iTunes lossless format (M4A) isn't supported.
If your file isn’t supported, we do our best to match it with songs from the Spotify catalog. The version we match with might differ from the original.
